I seriously think I like the X1. It infuriates me to no end that BMW is making all of these niche models, but this one sort of makes sense to me. The cg probably isn't high enough to make it drive awful (awful is relative, I drive a RR Sport right now), it has the choice of the awesome BMW twin turbo straight six or the new twin turbo four pot, hydraulic steering and it's basically a wagon! And did I mention they are surprisingly cheap used? F30 328i xDrive's are easily 40-45k right now, while X1 35i xDrive's (or whatever it is now) with good options are going for ~40k.... I think I'm on to something here boys. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . One of the first ones that popped up in searches.

They're probably going to start pricing them lower too to make room for the new FWD one. I like them, and the rest of the oppo community seems to have the same feelings towards them as you and me.

It's kind of in the same boat as the Allroad and XC70 but better looking and (probably) faster than both.

Unfortunately, non of the engines are twin turbo... They're twin turbo power, which essentially means twin scrolled

I've been looking at allroads a lot recently too... I don't think I'm granola enough for them, though.

I would have an Allroad color matched body panels and the suspension on the lowest setting. I see them on the street with the "rugged trim" and it looks kinda cheap.

I test drove an X1 for the same reason most folks here get intrigued by it: on paper it's a slightly tall 335i wagon, and it's cheaper than a 335i.

The one I drove was a non-M xDrive35i and while it was pretty quick, it's kinda tippy compared to say, a 3 series without the sport suspension. Not as tippy as other crossovers though. The M Sport trim with its lower, firmer suspension could be better but I haven't driven one.

Aside from suspension, the back seat isn't very roomy. With the driver's seat adjusted for me at 5'11", I got in back and my knees were pushed into the back of the driver's seat pretty good.

I saw one of those recently. It's just a CrossTrek's 3-Series. I didn't mind it.

I'm in college, it's the car my parents are letting me drive. I'm not really complaining, but I just feel like a douchebag driving a brand new car around when I'm 20 years old and don't have a job other than internships. X1 is obviously a nice car, but it most certainly is not the douche-mobile that the Range is.

we have a similar situation my friend... it turns out each time i take my parents car to the university parking lot, everyone's out there and looks at me, but when i take mine, nobody there. I now have a tactic, pulling in with shades and w/o my hat, parking at the very end, disabling the alarm chip so i dont get notice, getting out w/o my shades and with my hat and everything is fine. Pisses me off lol
